Andrew Mather, 18 Black

Andrew Mather (beantownbounce@ymail.com) is the Technical Director of Beantown VBC and will coach the 18's Black team. He is also the current girl's coach at Falmouth HS. He has coached regional teams in Canada with the Ontario Games and with girls and boys teams in the Bay State Games. Andy is the former coach of the men's teams at University of Rhode Island and MIT, and former assistant coach with the women's team at Boston College. He was also the men's club coach at BC, finishing in the top 25 nationally for 10 seasons. Andy has also coached club volleyball with Cape Cod Juniors, Pilgrim and Newton Smash. He has coached high school boy's teams at Greater New Bedford, Millis, Brookline, and girl's at Medway and Plymouth South as well as boys and girls at Lakeview HS and Fisher Park HS in Ontario, Canada.

Peter Suxho, 17 Black

Peter Suxho (psuxho@aol.com) is the Head Coach of Beantown Volleyball Club and currently coaches the 17's Black team. He has coached internationally with the Albanian Men's National Team and in the Mediterranean Games. Coach Suxho has coached several of our teams to New England Regional Championships. He coached the Beantown 18's to a bronze medal at the 2003 Junior Olympic Championships. Peter was instrumental in Millis HS going undefeated in 2003, with both the boys and girls winning state championships. He is a certified level 1 FIVB International Coach. Coach Suxho is currently the coach of the boy's and girl's teams at Natick HS, where he was the Boston Globe Coach of the Year in 2006 with the boys and the team won the state championship in 2007. Peter has worked many camps and clinics in the area, specifically last summer in Medway with his son Donald. Donald is the former setter of the US Men's National Team.

Serge Melnik, 16 Black

Serge Melnik (smelnik@lasell.edu) is the coach of the 16's Black team, and coaches the Natick JV girl's and boy's programs. Serge was a Boston Globe All-Scholastic in 2006 at Natick HS. Serge was also a standout as an opposite for Lasell College. He coached the Natick boy's team that won the 2007 State Championship. Serge has also worked at many summer camps and clinics in New England. In 2008 his 16's Black team was New England Champions. Coach Melnik also led the Boy's Southeast Scholastic team to a Gold Medal in the 2009 Bay State Games.

Kelly Murphy, 18 Blue

Kelly Murphy (kellyann1112@yahoo.com) will continue to coach 18's Blue. Coach Murphy also coaches the women's team at Regis College. Kelly joined the Athletics staff at Regis in the Spring of 2003 and immediately made an impact on the volleyball program for which she once played. Playing at Regis from 1996-1999, Murphy found great success as an outside hitter. She was the most-improved player as a Junior in 1998 and most-valuable player as a Senior in 1999.

Todd Elwell, 17 Blue

Todd Elwell (elwell_todd@yahoo.com) is the coach of the 17's Blue team. Coach Elwell was the Boston Globe Coach of the Year for Boy's Volleyball in 2009 in guiding Newton South to the South Sectional Championship. Coach Elwell has also experienced success with the Girl's team at Newton South in winning a Sectional Championship in 2008.

Elsa Apostoli, 16 Blue

Elsa Apostoli (elsa.apostoli@gmail.com) is a co-coach of the 16's Blue team. Coach Apostoli experienced great success as a player at Natick HS gaining Boston Globe All-Scholastic recognition. She went on to compete for Bridgewater State College for a stellar college career. Elsa has also worked at many summer camps and clinics in New England.

Scott Maier, 15 Blue

Scott Maier (salfortruth@gmail.com) is a co-coach of the 16's Blue team. Scott was a Boston Globe All-Scholastic in 2003 when Millis went undefeated and won the state championship. He also played for the Men's team at Roger Williams University when they had a varsity program. He has coached Greater New Bedford's boy's volleyball program and has worked many camps and clinics in New England. As a player for Beantown, Maier won a Bronze medal at the 2003 National Championships.

Greg Maier, 18 Black Assistant

Greg Maier (gmaier1133@gmail.com) is an assistant coach with the 18's Black team. Greg experienced great success as a player in winning a State Championship in his sophomore year at Millis HS and competing in the State Finals in his junior and senior years. Greg also competed at Vassar College as an Outside Hitter, and the team played in the NCAA DIII National Championship in 2008. He was also a player with Beantown VBC.

Steve Micucci, 18 Blue Assistant

Steve Micucci (stmicucci137@gmail.com) is an assistant coach with the 18's Blue team. Steve experienced great success as a player in winning a State Championship in his sophomore year at Millis HS, and competing in the State Finals in his junior and senior seasons. He was a Globe All-Scholastic in 2004 and 2005. Steve was a 4 year starter at Vassar College at middle hitter and his team played in the NCAA DIII National Championship in 2008. He was also a player with Beantown VBC.

Cammi McGuire, 17 Blue Assistant

Cammi McGuire (cmaguire1@student.framingham.edu) is the assistant coach of the 17's Blue team. Coach McGuire experienced great success as a player at Natick HS. She currently competes on the Framingham State College Women's Volleyball team as their setter. Cammi has also worked at many summer camps and clinics in New England.

Karin Chue, Basic Skills

Karin Chue (kcvball@gmail.com) will act as the Basic Skills Coordinator for the 2010 season. Coach Chue is a member of the Board of Directors with Beantown and is responsible for Player Development. Karin has been a valuable member of Beantown for many years and has had many roles. She has coached at all levels of the program and will return to teach our younger athletes. Karin has also coached volleyball at the college level and with the Newton South and Natick HS programs.

Tom Newman, Strength and Conditioning Consultant (Sandbata Athletics)

Tom Newman (sandbata@gmail.com) will act as the Strength and Conditioning consultant for Beantown VBC. He is currently a strength coach at Salve Regina University and is a certified strength and conditioning specialist. Coach Newman was also a personal trainer at LA Fitness in Boston. Tom was a Boston Globe All-Scholastic in 2002 and was Player of the Year in 2003 when Millis was undefeated State Champions. He was the starting setter for the University of Rhode Island men’s volleyball club team. He was the Assistant Coach with the women's team at Brown University, and also coached with the RI Blast Volleyball Club. Coach Newman has also been very involved in Beantown. As a player his team won a Bronze medal at the 2003 National Championships where he was selected as an All-American. He was also the coach of the Basic Skills program in 2009.
